Hello world!

Hi there! My name is Meg, and I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now. I was inspired by several things recently that finally pushed me to take the plunge. Who knows - maybe I could be the next Pioneer Woman :-)

About the name - yesterday, I had the priviledge to stand by one of my best friends as her matron of honor. She is my oldest friend. We met in 4th grade and have managed to maintain our closeness all these years through life's ups and downs. At the rehearsal, the minister was speaking about what marriage is to him, and he called it "a moving target." That really struck me. I've heard people call life a moving target as well. Since I intend this blog to be about life and my own new marriage - I thought it was a perfect title.

This morning, I ran into a friend who told me she enjoyed reading my facebook updates. I jokingly said maybe I should start a blog - she even referenced the Pioneer Woman. Since I keep hearing about her from so many people and have enjoyed some of her recipes myself, I thought why not?!

Lastly, this afternoon I received a call from a good friend of mine to tell me she was engaged. (It's just the season of my life for weddings I guess!) I was so excited, and of course my first thought was to look to her facebook profile for pictures of the rock :-) Though I was disappointed to find none there, I did discover she had a blog I never knew about. After reading a few entries, I couldn't stand it anymore - I had to start one of my own.

I have no idea if I'll have enough time to really devote to this to make it interesting. For that matter, I have no idea if I will have enough interesting things to talk about! I mean, my life keeps me pretty busy, but is it entertaining to read about? Will anybody care? Since my friends tend to be more and more scattered around the country and even the world at times, maybe this will help us keep in touch better.

Whoever ends up being along for the ride, I look forward to sharing this wonderful journey of life, this moving target, with you!
